Wow, what a year!

As 2023 comes to a close, we reflect on what has been an eventful and rewarding year for Finders International. The year brought forth an array of accomplishments, from industry awards to regional expansion.

Busiest Year Yet!

Throughout the year, we have worked with 600 professionals on over 6000 cases, our busiest year yet! Our services have become indispensable when dealing with estate matters, and we are proud to have helped so many clients get their cases over the line, distribute funds to rightful heirs, and reunite long-lost family members.

We’ve been involved in several remarkable success stories. One such case involved reuniting Alfred Ardener with his long-lost sister after an astonishing 70 years of separation. There was also the case of Christine Woodey, where we successfully located a beneficiary in Canada who had no prior knowledge of Christine’s existence. But the most memorable case this year, was that of George Anderson, which was picked up by the Daily Mail. We located entitled heirs to George’s £180,000 estate. You can read more about that, here.

Award-Winning Success

Finders International won ‘Best UK Probate Research Firm’ at the 2023 Probate Research Awards in April. The celebration didn’t end there – a double triumph ensued when we won the same award, ‘Probate Research Firm of the Year’ at the British Wills and Probate Awards.

The team at Finders International Ireland also emerged winners at the prestigious Irish Legal Awards, securing the ‘Service Provider to the Legal Profession’ award.

These recognitions underscore our firm’s commitment to delivering exceptional quality and service to clients in the UK and Ireland.

Expansion into Cardiff & Hull

Finders International proudly opened a new office in Cardiff to support legal professionals in Wales further. This expansion in the heart of Wales reaffirms the firm’s dedication to providing localised and accessible services. The Cardiff office is a hub for collaboration, facilitating meetings and ensuring a seamless experience for legal professionals seeking assistance in probate research and related matters. The company also acquired established genealogy firm DS Researchers. Danny comments, “Having DS Researchers join the Finders International family isn’t just about business growth, it’s about sharing of knowledge, resources and expertise in an industry which needs to constantly challenge itself to produce results for family members – to whom we have a key responsibility.”

‘On Heir’ Podcast

In 2023, we launched our new podcast On Heir.

The On Heir podcast offers exclusive insights into the private client and probate research sectors. Hosted by Senior Business Development Manager, Dave Lockwood – the show features monthly interviews with legal professionals and genealogists, discussing their experiences, challenges, and successes.

Whether you’re in the industry or simply fascinated by it, On Heir offers thought-provoking insights and engaging discussions with a focus on having a chuckle while learning something new.

Chosen Charities – Our commitment to giving back

At the year’s outset, Finders International chose three charities to support in 2023 across all its offices. These were Friends of the Earth, tackling environmental and social issues, and Child Bereavement (UK) and Anam Cara (Ireland), aiding families affected by child loss.

We participated in the London Legal Walk and fundraised for Children in Need alongside our chosen charities. Additionally, for every received feedback form, £1 was donated to our charities. Across all of our efforts, we raised a total of £3,153.54!
