The Faces Behind Finders: Heather Gibbon, Public Domain Client Services Case Manager

How did you get into probate genealogy?

I have always enjoyed genealogy as a hobby and have been obsessively researching my family tree for 20 years. After working as a Teacher and in child care for many years I wanted to make the change and make my much loved hobby a career.

What does a normal day look like for you?

My days are greatly varied, from speaking to beneficiaries to researching family trees across the globe.

What is your most memorable case to date?

I have a few but the most memorable cases are when relatives discover what has happened to their family members when there has been a family mystery.

What do you love most about working at Finders?

I enjoy difficult and challenging research; it is very satisfying when the research is resolved.

Away from genealogy, if you could do any other job in the world, what would you do and why?

I would love to be an Interior Designer.
